"They say home is where the heart is. A home portrait by Pennsylvania artist Gilman Hanson captures and celebrates that special place where people grow through the years of their lives, where bonds are forged between family and friends, and where memories are made."
Our art gallery showcases the best of Gilman's art from the heart. Enjoy a world of art and beauty.
This is a pen & ink watercolor of the Historic Oaks Cloister in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. This beautiful and eclectic residence was designed by Joseph M. Huston. The property derives its significance as an extraordinary and eclectic example of the Tudor Revival in the early 1900's.
Gilman explains the purpose and the pleasure of creating his art of home portraits
. “I look at homes as expressions of the heart, where people live, thrive and grow together as families and friends. I find it wonderfully rewarding to create art that delights people with their home’s unique beauty.”
The home portraiture process is personal. Gilman will visit your property live in person (or via zoom) to get a feeling for the home, see the important details, and take photographs of the dwelling in its natural setting. Working from these images and our discussion I will create a pen & ink drawing or color painting that captures your home’s beauty.
